drives me mad, makes me
wish I'd never had the things
you lay into my heart.
We stand here, face to face.
Turned the other way.
In haste I scream at
your smile. Unleashing floods
of water while I say all
I can, to suffocate your flame.
And even though my articulated waves
come crashing in your face and drown
your smile, I know who is to
blame for uncalculated victims
of unnatural disasters.
Not once have you moved, not
a single twitch in your face.
Yet still sinfully burning away:
the fire, in its rightful place
Have I not proved anything?
Your silence numbs my tongue, makes
me think that I was wrong, to
love you at all
if all I do is fall
without hands to catch me.
